Dr. Makar was the recipient of the Academy of General Dentistry Senior student award upon graduating dental school. During his residency, he was presented with the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation Research Award for his published novel research in temporomandibular joint disorders. He was also co-recipient of the Southern Ontario Surgical Orthodontic Study Club Award.

Dr. Makar is passionate about mentoring and connecting with the next generation of dentists and dedicates his time outside of the clinic as a part time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry.

Above all else, the titles Dr. Makar cherishes most are dad and husband. He balances his professional life by staying active and enjoying golf, hockey, traveling, cooking, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Bertucci combines her passions for orthodontics and facial esthetics with personalized patient care. Dr. Bertucci enjoys the relationship between facial aesthetics and a beautiful smile. She ensures that her treatment plan considers the overall facial balance for her patients. Her dedication to excellence has been evident through her various awards, especially the Dean’s Gold Medal she received from the University of Toronto when she graduated first in her class.

Dr. Bertucci’s warm nature and ability to make patients feel at ease, are especially evident with her younger patients. Her dental residency at the Montreal Children’s Hospital provided her the opportunity to provide a variety of dental services to both children and adolescent patients as well as those with special needs and trauma, with and without hospital based care and medical conditions.

Dr. Bertucci has combined her interest to serve children patients with her research at the Hospital for Sick Children where she did research for patients with cleft palate.

She especially enjoys the opportunities orthodontics provide to watch her patients and families develop and mature while their smiles and confidence grow.

Dr. Bertucci enjoys spending time with her friends and family and appreciates nature and flowers through her many visits to flower shops.

Throughout his training, Dr. Barranca was the recipient of several awards for both his academic and clinical excellence, including the Ontario Dental Association Proficiency Award, the American Academy of Oral Maxillofacial Radiology Award, and the Southern Ontario Surgical Orthodontic Study Club Award.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Barranca enjoys spending quality time with his lovely wife and son. His hobbies include playing guitar, golfing, traveling, reading, and cooking.
